Here it comes by Detroit Auto Show
The Detroit Auto Show starts today and runs through January 20th. The Freep shares that in addition to no longer putting on airs as the North American International Auto Show, there won’t be any concept cars or earth-shaking demos. Instead, the show will include more than 30 car brands showcasing their vehicles. Luxury cars will be returning to the floor, and there will be test tracks, charity drives and engineering exhibits.
Being a place for buyers to meet sellers & see the range of cars in the market is for sure cool, but can we just have just a couple concept cars? For science?? Here’s two from past Michpics posts…

Thanks for that photo of the 1938 Phantom Corsair, the car of my dreams. Hard to believe that it seated six. Sad that only the one prototype exists.

Going at the speed of sound here … almost anyway. I watched a video by Charlie Langton on Twitter/X tonight. He was a passenger in a Jeep Rubicon at the Auto Show yesterday as the driver took on an incredible obstacle course. Wow is what Charlie said (me too). I’ve not been to the auto show in years … Chubby Checker did the Limbo there at one of the exhibits. Yep, showing your age Linda.

Heh. I kind of want to go. Andrea Gita (a DJ I like) is spinning from 5-7 tomorrow so I may go then. My friend Montez Miller is streaming a bunch of stuff from the show on Facebook. She’s a great follow if you love Detroit!

Thank you for the tip about Montez. I’ll bet they are busy this weekend, first day and all as next weekend will be playoffs either Saturday or Sunday.
