Lunchtime is Laker Time!, photo by mdprovost and American Victory, photo by smiles7

Last Wednesday, mdprovost captured this photo of the American Victory under the Blue Water Bridges between Port Huron, Michigan and Pte. Edward, Ontario. On Friday, smiles7 photographed the vessel as she passed through Sault St. Marie on the annual Engineer’s Day. And then they both added them to the Absolute Michigan pool on Flickr – how cool is that??!!

No word as to whether or not Kevin Bacon was aboard.

Of the above photo, Chris Clayson writes We’ll take ripples over mirrors any day. If you view it big you will see that the 2nd boat is well on its way to being becalmed.

This photo is part of a set that seeks to provide on boat’s perspective (Unplugged of Port Sanilac) of racing in the Port Huron to Mackinac, one of Michigan’s two annual long distance sailing races (the other being the Chicago to Mackinac Race).

Blue Water Bridges

Blue Water Bridges

Blue Water Bridges, photo by Larry the Biker.

This photo is part of Larry the Biker's set of Michigan Landmarks. He writes:

On the far left is the "Thomas Edison Depot" where the inventor held his first job. Overlooking the depot is the sister spans of the Blue Water Bridge, Port Huron, Michigan.

The Thomas Edison Depot Museum is housed inside the historic Fort Gratiot depot built in 1858 by the Grand Trunk Railway, and is the actual depot that Thomas Edison worked out of as a news butcher between 1859 and 1863.

Edison is one of the twelve inaugural inductees into the Michigan Walk of Fame in Lansing. You can learn more about, Edison, the Walk and the other inductees at Absolute Michigan.
